About the Subscription: The Margot Elena Subscription Box is a subscription box from the female designer & team behind Lollia, TokyoMilk, and Library of Flowers. This one's all about pampering. You’ll receive fragrances, stationery, and a luxurious mix of body, beauty, and hair care products. All products are full-sized, and the elegant packaging gives you that “wow" factor as you open each delivery. While the Margot Elena Discovery Box doesn’t announce the contents of each box until it ships — hey, the surprise is part of the fun — you can check out past boxes on their site. They also post teasers on social media, so if you enjoy a bit of sleuthing, you’ll get a sense of what you’re getting.

Pros

  • Awesome mix of perfume, bath, and beauty products
  • $200 value per box

2. Beauty Heroes

The Best Subscription Box for Clean Beauty Products

Image via our review.

The Cost: $58.95 per month, or save with longer commitments. Subscribe here!

About the Subscription: This skincare box goes for quality over quantity — you’ll only receive 2 beauty products per month. The price might seem a little steep at first, but if you’ve paid for premium skincare products, you know that they’re worth the investment. You can’t put a price on clear, healthy skin (and if you did, that price would be more than $58.95 per month).

Beauty Heroes curates life-changing products with non-toxic, clean ingredients. This high-end subscription box typically includes one larger “hero” product and one deluxe sample “sidekick” product. The company vets all of their brands carefully; products cannot include ingredients banned in Japan, Canada, the United States, or the European Union, and the Beauty Heroes site contains additional info about stuff that they won’t allow (parabens, animal-tested ingredients, non-biodegradable substances, and other harmful stuff).

Put simply, Beauty Heroes does the research to find the best skincare products in the world, then ships them to your door. If the monthly price tag is a bit high, you can save by signing up for a long-term subscription (the 12-month subscription, for instance, cuts the price-per-box down to $39.95).

Pros

  • Non-toxic beauty products
  • Most products are certified organic
  • Each box valued at $120

Cons

  • Only sends 2 products per month

Shipping: Ships worldwide. U.S. orders under $75 have a flat $5.95 shipping fee. Canadian orders under $75.00 have a flat $11.95 shipping fee. All other locations with orders under $200 have a flat $18.95 shipping fee.

10. Beachly

The Best Subscription Box for Beach Lovers

Beachly women's box fall 2020

Image from our review.

The Cost: $99 per quarter + shipping. Subscribe here!

About the Subscription: You might not think of beach gear as luxurious, but if so, that’s because you haven’t checked out Beachly yet.

This luxury subscription box gives you everything you need to hit your favorite private beach (or, in our case, an overcrowded public beach) in style. Each quarter, Beachly sends out full-size beauty products, seasonally appropriate clothes, home decor, and accessories. Everything has a beach theme, but not the type of beach theme you’d see in your parents' bathroom — expect soft color palettes, high-quality materials, and chill vibes.

  • A mix of apparel, jewelry, home decor, and much more
  • Women’s Box and Men’s Box as well as a separate Beauty Box subscription
  • Great way to prepare for the beach

I'm a SAHM of 2 under 2 who's on a mission to discover the best subscription boxes for women and children. On the off chance I'm not chasing after my kids (or breaking up a looming brawl between them and the cats), you can most likely find me training in the pool, sipping on an Americano at my local coffee shop, or hiding in our spare room to catch up on my favorite podcasts.

I haven’t got a Journee box is over 5 months, they are having serious issues.

I paid for my Journee box in December. It is now March 3 and no box. Promises for the box to be on the way in February were not met. Now promised for March. Love the curated products but the delivery is poor. Also, it is a difficult check-out process (not user friendly) and the customer service leaves something to be desired.

I received a Journee box in December. I think it was the Editor’s box. I just customized for my spring box earlier this week.

Is this a re-run? Most of the comments are 1-2 years old!

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Yeah this seems like a repost, without the necessary updates.

Reply ButtonReply

Rose

I don’t know if MSA checks these comments, but it would be great if they made an updated version of this list. A lot of the boxes are either gone, have different prices, or have changed their name. I enjoy reading these lists, and I also enjoy the comments.

I have a charge on my credit card for 34.99, and haven’t received anything from your company.
Please follow through and tell me what this is for.

I think OuiPlease has really done a great job this last year and the men’s box is also great. I have an annual to both and feel that the items are good quality and Ashley at OuiPlease is very helpful.

Stephanie

Just in case anyone reads this, OP has been taking subscribers money for the past year and not sending out boxes. They took 6 payments for 2020, which means they should have sent out 6 boxes yet only sent out 1 partial box. The boxes they do send out are all missing the hero/big ticket items and are replaced with made in China junk. Buyer beware! Serious scam going on here!

Tiffany

I second Ashley’s customer care!

I receive Causebox and have received FabFitFun, and based on those two I’d put Breo on its own list. Not just because they’re totally different products, but because the RVs are almost all spot on. I’ve received items from FFF that I’ve really enjoyed but come on…we know we can get many of them on Amazon for 25% of their stated RV. Not so with Breo. Causebox is basically a donation.

Reply ButtonReply

Connie

My favorite luxe subscription is Luxe Provence. Great customer service and everything I have received has been amazing and to my taste.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacey

Luxe Catch sends great stuff to the reviewer on this site but different things to subscribers – even if they have the same style profile. They don’t seem to actually follow your style profile and they certainly don’t follow your size profile. I tried for three months with this box and got items sized too small or not styled to my style profile at all. I would not subscribe to this box unless you add very sure of your sizes across all of their brands and you don’t mind getting clothes that don’t fit your style at all that you can’t return or exchange.

Zoe’s Box of Style has been on the decline for years. My sense is that Rachel has either stepped away from curating it…..or has decided to up her profit margins. I just checked the Fall Box of Style and was similarly disappointed. Come on Rachel….get back to the basics of your earlier boxes several years ago!

Reply ButtonReply

KESD

I chose Rachel Zoe Box of Style $349 one year pre pay . The promotion for new subscribers included the Echo Look. I love this thing! The content of the box was just okay. Summer 2019 a sad disappointment as it included a beach towel wrapped in cheap plastic that retails for over $200. The BLACK macrame’ hand bag for summer was ill received as well. I didn’t feel like it went with the summer season. In my opinion, both the beach towel and black handbag are just fillers for lack of imagination or an item of real substance. The plastic earrings are cute. You can call them Italian acetate if you want, I call it what it is: plastic. They come from USA Georgia. They are so two years ago that I already had a pair from Madewell for half the price. I won’t be renewing the subscription.

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

Acetate is a kind of plastic. A specific kind, with specific polymers making it up and specific properties. It is also very trendy right now in jewelry items.

Reply ButtonReply

Joan

Does anyone have any suggestions or favorites in the Luxe subscriptions?

Reply ButtonReply

Elaine

I have been impressed with BoxyLuxe. Some of my fave products came from their boxes. Pop Sugar has also been impressive. Love many of their items. If you love perfumes and bath products, Margot Elena is awesome. I also love Ahh Sugar – not sure if it is considered a luxe box but it def gives you luxe bath and showers. I can’t think of FFF as luxe. It more grab bag than high end. CauseBox has some lovely things and several misses, but at least you feel like you did something good by purchasing the box. I really want to try Oui Please.

Happy Rebel Box! I’ve been subscribing since Winter 2016 and I’ve never been disappointed.

Sunday Riley is the only one of these I get. I highly recommend it!

Hi Lynda, I was thinking about subscribing to the Sunday Riley Sub… I LOVE their skin care products. You really think it’s worth it? You’re absolute FAVORITE Sub box?
Thanks!

Cindy

How is 5th avenue style here. I have been waiting for boxes for over a year and a half with no response and I am out thousands. I am awaiting a response after getting the BBB and New York Attorney General involved

Reply ButtonReply

Connie

I also am waiting for a box and Better Business Bureau stated they did not receive any response from 5th Avenue and nothing more they can do. My next step was going to be the Attorney General. Are you having any luck?

Reply ButtonReply

Joy

OMG! Thats terrible! Not going to ever subscribe based on your experience.

Reply ButtonReply

Cynthia

I was wondering how that was there also. It’s not even reviewed any more. Thought they went out of business.

Reply ButtonReply

I cannot believe you put 5th Avenue Style on this list! Go back and read the reviews from all the people who never got what they ordered!

Reply ButtonReply

Bebe

This comment is SO TRUE!!!! I wish I could thumbs this up! 5th Avenue Style should be on another sort of list!

Reply ButtonReply

Karen

I thought the same thing. I was actually going to go back and see if they had changed their ways.

Mel

Hey so about the Sunday Riley box every time I go to order it the only country available in drop down section is USA 🇺🇸 so I don’t think they ship worldwide it’s seems to only be within the US just thought you might like to know so you can correct that, It got me super excited just to get bummed out again!
